A Chocolate Lens chronicles Steven Cummings’s photographic journey through a disappearing Black Washington. His approach was simple: use the camera lens to find the power amidst the storm. His images are a love letter to Black people across America.

This film won Best Documentary Short Award at the Cleveland International FIlm Festival, making itan Oscar qualified film. This will be 1 in about 100 short documentary films eligible for the short documentary award at the oscars.

This is a a huge acomplish in its self, but we are going for it all. The PR push will be costly so we are asking friends, family, and the community for a donation to help us can bring the Oscar home. Filmmaking is a collobrative process so we are asking you to collobrate with us on helping this film get the reconition it deserves.

We will have a screeing plus a conversation with the Director, Gabriel Veras and Steven Cummings.
