Big Bear is located in a small residential neighborhood in the heart of DC surrounded by cobblestone patios, flowering gardens, trees, and old native grape vines.
We have a history of award winning chefs, ingredient driven farm-focused menus, and personable professional service staff.
THE SPACE:
The lower level indoor dining area has a full service bar, walls of exposed brick and plaster, and rough-hewn hardwood tables built from the reclaimed beams of the original 120 year old Big Bear Market.
The second floor is an additional private space with rustic wood paneling, vintage industrial steel frames, large windows, and a full bar.
The interior spaces are candle-lit at night and tables are configured for either large communal table dining, or open-floor more casual cocktail reception.
The outside garden patio is covered with a grapevine canopy. The herb gardens surround the space separating it from the outside world. Wedding ceremonies ns can be set on the patio with a separate indoor reception. You can also have your dinner outside under the grape vines with separate reception or meeting areas indoors or on a small patio off to the side.
The second floor is a wonderful rustic space featuring wood-paneled walls, wood fireplace, and exposed brick walls. This area is perfect for an indoor ceremony, seated communal dinner, or dancing.
